Just want to make sure everything would fit in a case this size, and that the case has good airflow and cooling.

That seems odd as they're both pcspecialist.co.uk/ but either way, i use the same credentials for 'both'.
PCSpecialist.co.uk is the domain, but you can have as many different systems within a domain as you like. The Domain is simply the "Warehouse" that encompasses all sites within that domain.

Ah ok, apologies for my lack of web knowledge. I called up their team (at their request from a live chat) and it's all sorted.

This is my final build that i've gone ahead with (minor changes like having the 1TB Samsung 980 Pro instead of 2 separate as when i reset Windows i'll happily re-do my games, and 32 GB of RAM so i just never have to worry about RAM for the future).

Thankyou to everyone for your help, particularly sck451 for all your advice! I'm looking forward to using an AMD CPU for the first time rather than Intel, hopefully it performs well!

Am i meant to post back in this forum once i eventually receive and test the machine or is that not normal process?

(PS just noticed i left Edge as the default browser selected, woops)

Plenty of people in the world have one SSD. It wouldn't be my choice but it's not the end of the world. You can (and should!) upgrade later on.

Oh, and I missed this: please do send pictures and how you're getting on with the PC! Always great to hear how it's going.

If you login to your account you can change things up to the system going into build

As you note you have disregarded the second drive advice, not an ideal config. really
Other than the concept of reinstalling Windows every so often as sck451 suggested, what other benefits are there to having a 500gb boot drive and separate drive for games?

Your CPU works in a queue system so it can only handle one request at a time from each drive. Having two drives allows it to have two separate queues so it can handle requests more efficiently. it'll help prevent hang ups in games from OS requests and vis versa

It's mostly not noticed tbh but it's a really nice quality of life feature that once you get used to it there is no going back

It also helps promote good boot drive house keeping. You want the drive with your OS to never go above 50-60% full so that the drive can run at it's optimal speeds at all times causing your OS to run at it's optimal speeds at all times. The more you fill a drive the more the speed declines. In gaming this isn't much an issue so a separate dedicated drive you can fill right up and not notice much but on the OS you will notice slow down on a filled OS drive. It's helps you keep to these limits and keep the speed up much easier

Oh ok, i didn't know that's how it worked, in my head it was more that as the game would be on the same drive as the OS i'm running, when i 'launch' a game it doesnt have to do any extra work of 'going' to a separate drive, it'd just immediately grab it. I think perhaps i should amend my build like RichLang advised then.

Edit: is there any reason i shouldnt go for a 500gb 980 Pro Samsung as boot drive and then also a 1TB 980 Pro Samsung as the games drive? As opposed to having two different brands like sck451 suggested?

No having those two drives would be fine, @sck451 would have selected those particular drives probably to stay on budget. He knows what's he's doing and his advice is always solid

Just note the fastest 1TB drive on the config I believe is the Firecuda, it's ever so slightly faster than the 980 Pro and costs pretty much the same I believe

I'd go 980 Pro as the boot drive then Firecuda 1TB as my games drive personally. Reality you'll probably not notice a difference but technically it would be the optimal set up for the fastest speeds

Yeah, it essentially gives you more bandwidth, more possible concurrent access to data on different drives. Kind of like how building a bypass around a town reduces the traffic and makes everything faster.

There's no reason not to go for two 980s, except that high speed (expensive) is more useful for a boot drive, while high capacity is more useful for a games drive. Going for a small fast drive for booting and then a larger, cheaper, slightly slower secondary drive for games gives better value in my book. You're very unlikely to notice the difference in drive speeds in gameplay.
