Hi I bought my laptop on here a few years ago and slowing software been going wrong. The backlight stopped working. The volume only has on and off regardless of what percent I have it on. I thought I was being clever and updated all the drivers and on restart no TouchPad or keyboard. I've tried device manager installing rec drivers and choosing drivers I've tried u installing drivers. I even fully reset pc back to factory settings and still both don't work currently plugging in keyboard and mouse to figure it out. I have a defiance series rgb lit keyboard. And a 3 year silver warranty. Has anyone had this issue and how do I fix it? Or can I not fix it? Thanks Phil.

Does the keyboard work if you drop to BIOS before launch etc? Can you press F10/F2/Delete whatever and get into the bios and navigate it. If the keyboard doesn't work from that level then it would point to a hardware failure or cable disconnect as you will have taken Windows out of the equation completely.

Thank you I will check this tonight and post the response

Yup I can access bios and the keyboard works perfect here.

It's most likely a software issue then. You didn't say how you did the "factory reset"? Was this a clean install of Windows from bootable media, or something else?

Given the range of issues you have I would strongly suggest you do a clean install from bootable media.

Make sure you let windows update do its thing all the way through, before installing anything, easier to troubleshoot issues then 👍
