Kingston v300 SSD ??

Hello,

This laptop is in testing, 4th working day. I've just read on these forums about the performance issues with the Kingston v300 and read a few articles on the subject.
Since this problem has been apparent since at least March 2014, could anyone confirm that the current SSD's might still suffer from slow performance?
It's too late for me to change anything but I would like to know before I receive the laptop.

It suffers from performance issues, not as fast as the kingston hyperx or samsung evo SSDs

Thanks - I've done my research now on the two variations of this Kingston SSD. A little too late. I'm going to email PCS to see if they can do anything at this late stage, if not I'll buy a Crucial M500 or a Samsung 850 Evo to fit later. Now I see why the Kingston SSD is £30-£35 cheaper than comparable sized SSD's.

As long as it's not packed and ready for dispatch I believe you can make changes, however since it's not in pre-production anymore I think there is an admin charge as changes at this point basically mean they have to take it apart, replace the SSD and start all the testing again if nothing else - don't know what the charges are though.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll leave it as is, and buy a Samsung 850 EVO SSD separately. My friend has stuck by Samsung since he bought an EVO 830 and swears by them. Then I will put the Kingston SSD in my existing Skyfire as it doesn't have any SSD's. I'll probably look at another laptop in 4 years or so, and this episode means I will not consider Kingston SSD's or RAM or any other products of theirs.
