Hey all, buying a laptop for my partner, she mainly uses it for surfing the web, Microsoft Office (powerpoint presentations, word etc) for business and skype. She also likes to watch films, mainly streaming over the internet.
Price range is between £600-800 (although less is good :p). The key criteria is that it must be lightweight as she is small and travels a lot, and good connection to wifi for the same reasons, she currently has a mac air, but it is rubbish at picking up wifi signal and always seems to have a very slow or weak connection, even though our mobile phones, tablets and my laptop have a great connection (yes we dont use them when she does).

So please advise if you think the below laptop will be sufficient, or if youd recommend a different one?

I would say the chassis would be ideal, it's a really nice solid build and she'll appreciate it after her macbook.

The only thing I'd change is the model of the SSD, as the V300 suffers from pretty major performance issues. I'd personally go for the Samsung Evo 850 as an alternative as I reckon it's the best of the bunch.

Other than that, looks spot on.

Thanks, made the change to Samasung EVO SSD, will the onboard (I presume its onboard) Intel Graphics be good enough for streaming films from NETFLIX etc?

Yeah, would be fine for normal usage, streaming, browser streaming, dvds etc. You only need dedicated graphics for more intensive 3D games, graphics modeling etc.
