Laptop not starting up after registry back up

Hello,

My PC specialist laptop is not starting up.

Previously I uninstalled photoshop and needed it back so I went to recovery and restored my laptop to before I deleted the app. My laptop went into system restore and registry backup was happening. It finished and then restarted and hasn't been able to switch back on since.

I need my laptop to do work and wondering if anyone can help me to switch it back on?

Hi there,

I edited your spec as your license was on there. Just in case you're wondering why the update came on.

I've never been a fan of system restore. It's very shaky as there are so many things that can become dependencies. With that said, we should still be able to get you back up and running.

We will need some more information though. Does the PC power on? What error do you get when you switch the PC on?

Hi, thank you so much for getting back to me!

Yes, it switches on, the PC logo comes on when I start it up but it stays on a black screen. The mouse occasionally pops up with a blue loading circle but I cant move the mouse around. My keyboard lights also comes on.

That's a start at least, good to know it's likely just the software.

Have you seen the Windows Repair option coming up at all? I'm guessing you're having to turn the PC off by holding the power button? After a couple of attempts with this you should be met with the recovery menu. From here you can attempt a startup repair which can solve some issues.

Hi, yes, I use the power button. I just managed to get the blue windows repair screen. Is the start up repair you are suggesting to 'troubleshoot and reset the pc'?

edit: I found the start up repairs and clicked on it. It is now attempting repairs

No worries at all. Glad it worked for you. The startup repair can be a bit hit and miss so seems you have knocked it off :)
