Latest displays: NTSC 45% vs 72% vs IPS

Hi folks. First time poster. I got my first PC Specialist machine 4.5 years ago, a 15.6" Optimus VI. Sadly it has just conked out (either processor or mobo) so time for a new one! One of the main things that first attracted me to PC Specialist was the use of IPS panels pretty much as standard. I do occasional photo editing, and mostly enjoy offline games where I'm more bothered about a richer picture than response time (anyway I have a standalone TN monitor that I plug in for online FPS games, mostly CS:GO). Looking at the latest offerings from PCS it looks like IPS panels are out, or at least the panel tech isn't specified. Instead I have to go on NTSC percentage, and either settle for 45%, which seems low to me, or go for the Nova, which offers 72% but comes in a case that seems very far from portable. If I'm getting something that size and weight I feel like I may as well hold out for the 17.3" AMD machines. Anyway. That's my dilemma.

Tl;dr: Does anyone have experience with the IPS panels that used to be an option for PCS builds, and with the new screens (45% and/or 72% NTSC), and if so, how do they compare?

Imo, even an IPS panel with 45% NTSC will look better than any TN panel both in colour reproduction and especially in viewing angles.

I think I would agree. But do we know that the panel tech definitely is IPS, even on the 45% displays? (I guess this might just be a question to ask PCS direct...)

EDIT: I've spoken to PCS sales support and they say that the panels in the Nova and the Optimus XI are both IPS, and have given me the detailed specs on the Nova panel but so far not much about the Optimus. I sort of wish they didn't include the NTSC percentage to be honest, because now I'm fixated on that, whereas I reckon I could have quite happily just gone for the Optimus and never really known any different. Now I worry that if I go for the Optimus I'll always be wondering what could have been...

EDIT: After doing my own googling of the chassis model, I think the Optimus XI is a TN panel. That's what is specified on another site I've seen it listed. Disappointing service from PCS sales if true...
