long time to shutdown windows7

Hi,

this is a minor thing really, otherwise I'm really happy with my vortex4.
I have a ssd and booting time is 9 seconds (really happy with it).

However when shutting down it takes roughly 20 seconds each time.

This with hybernate off and pagingfile set at 1gb static and windows7 64bit.
Any ideas what it might be?

I know it's a long shot :)

Thanks
L

It's possibly not Windows but one of your applications that's delaying the shutdown. Try manually closing all user applications before shutting down. Check the system tray and Task Manager to identify user applications, close everything that's obviously not part of Windows and see whether your shutdown afterwards is quicker. If it is then you need to do some detective work to identify which user application is the problem and why.
