Hey there folks ,

Ive had a PC from pc specialist for about 2.5 years now and everything is still working great. I am however looking to upgrade my graphics cards. At the moment I have 2GB AMD Radeon 6950s running in crossfire. My budget is around £200 and I am looking for something to last and play upcoming games at high settings, but at the standard 1920x1024. What do you guys suggest?

I am not sure if this is needed but my mobo, psu and cpu are:

ASUS® P8Z68-V PRO: USB 3.0, SATA 6GB/s, NVIDIA®SLI™, ATI®CrossFireX™ from ASUS® P8Z68-V LX: USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs, ATI®CrossFireX

CORSAIR 850W ENTHUSIAST SERIES™ TX850 V2-80 PLUS® BRONZE

Intel® Core™i5-2500k Quad Core (3.30GHz, 6MB Cache) + HD Graphics

Thanks in advance

I doubt 200 would get you a card that could outperform your current 2x setup.

Looking at the 6950's doing a standard 1.5 X performance from running 2 cards (that can vary though) if you replace them with a 280x or could stretch to buying a GTX 770 that would be a decent step up and should loose the disadvantages of dual cards.

I rarely get the opportunity to use them both, most games I have screen tearing or a marginal increase in performance, sometimes there is even a decrease. I am not a fan of dual cards any more. Do you think I should wait a while longer for a price decrease in cards then ?

I could stretch to £230 ish for the 770 maybe. Do you think this would be a worthwhile investment and increase in performance? I wont be wanting to replace my gpu for another 2 years most likely.

I think its worth ditching the dual cards and going for a single if you have the budget. if you sold both cards you might net about £100, and a 280x/770 will outperform dual 6950's anyway.

2 years, who knows. Certainly should hold for a couple of years with a 770, no shame in a 280x though.

Awesome will be getting the 770 if I can then, thanks for the help.
