Loved the Laptop so much so configured a desktop Pc

Hi all I've configured a desktop PC loved the build and spec of my Laptop so much thought I'd build something for my office buget is around £2300

Still need a good monitor so any recommendations welcome budget for monitor is around £400.

Don't buy this.

The 9800x is pointless in the face of better CPUs on Intel's less expensive Z390 platform.

AMD's Ryzen 5 CPUs would offer similar performance, for many tasks. While AMD are also releasing Zen 2 CPUs, out 7th July, which will be faster still, and come with new motherboards supporting PCIe 4.0.

So whatever you do, don't buy the above

What is this going to be used for? Gaming? Any kinds of games in particular? If non-gaming uses, what software?

Hi thanks for the advice, It'll be used for gaming mainly Battlefield V, Rage 2, Metro Exodus and Tomb raider and so on, so it'd be worth waiting for the new Zen 2's.

I'm not clued up on the latest tech so thanks for letting me know about the upcoming Zen 2.

No worries.

I too would wait for Zen 2 Check back in around then in July and people can discuss spec options.

I'm not sure when reviews of the new CPUs and motherboards are coming out, could be on release day, or a bit before, but hopefully by 7th July we'll know what's what. PCS usually have these kinds of things in stock by release day.
