I bought the pc 17th October 2024, worked fine right out the box, up until 1-2 weeks ago, hadn't been playing games at the time but noticed google chrome was loading slower than usual, but i didnt pay much attention to it, fast forward to a couple days ago, i went to play a game and it was laggy, bit weird considering the specs and the fact it worked before, so i reloaded the game with task manager and spotted to CPU Speed stuck at 0.79GHz after doing the usual , un plug, plug back in, restart all that, nothing worked, went a bit deeper and started restoring the pc to previous windows updates, that didnt do anything so i was a bit stuck, decided to leave it for a bit and just watch some youtube, fell asleep and my pc went in to stand by mode, when i woke up and woke my pc up it ran for about 5 mins then just froze, some things i could click somethings i couldn't but nothing would load, couldn't even click on the restart or shutdown button so i turned it off with the button on the case (Id like to note the clock was about 2 hours out of sink from actual time, not sure why that happened). Then i ran into something i hadn't seen before, when i reloaded my pc i was presented with a "Boot failure detected" had the three options of "Load optimized defaults then boot" "Load optimized defaults then reboot" "Enter bios", i clicked on the second option, pc loaded right up, checked task manager cpu speed isn't locked at 0.79GHz, and clock back to normal.
So id like to know, what could've caused this? Can i prevent it happening again? Id guess the bios might've not been happy with me messing with restore points for windows, but then why was the CPU locked at suck a low speed in the first place?
