That is my build of which I purchased in March. However after months of perfection, its having major cpu overheating issues...but only occasionally. As I speak, its running at 31 degrees average. But for the last few days at least once the temp has risen uncontrollably when doing mundane tasks such as chrome or thunderbird. Considering its been happily coping with video editing and other such tasks for so long, and i would not expect it to die so soon, yes its OC but less than 8 months to a cpu is not right. Could the thermal paste have gotten a bit thin?

thermal paste wouldnt go in 8 months, its made to last a good few years

open the case and boot up the computer, are there any fans not spinning? especially the radiator fan, if this are not spinning, there is your problem, make sure it is plugged in correctly and try again, you could also put a fan on the front of the radiator to help improve the cooling to your CPU

I would use CPU-Z to monitor what speed the cpu is running at and doing what wozza said.. because sometimes my 2600k would go up to 4.6ghz and the idle temps would be 50-60 while browsing the internet.. (i then uninstalled razer configurator for my mamba and now it idles in 1.6ghz)

Just died again. The bios is saying a fan isn't spinning up when it is and the pipes coming from the processor to radiator are scolding hot.

when turned on, is the CPU fan moving properly? i think it will be the one behind the watercooling radiator

Well on inspection by listening to it. The fan puts effort into spinning or the first 10 minutes......then effectively gets bored and slows down to min speed lol I may have found my problem.
