So my new machine is running very happilly, but I am as always thinking, could I improve it?
Currently I am running Windows 7 64bit and have 4gb ram (Kingston). My old computer also had 4gb ram and I was considering just throwing it up in the loft. Then I thought - what if I just dump the memory into my new machine first.
Obviously this would give me 8gb however, how would it effect the performance. The old memory is slower than the new, but would that cause me any problems? I believe that as long as the paired memory matches there shouldn't be an issue, but I don't really know what the real effects would be.
Would there be a problem upgrading to 8gb with different ram?
Thanks,
