Microsoft office starter is a free trial version with limited features, far as I know it is installed by PCS if you select that option, no install disk is provided, same as with a trial antivirus program.Reinstalling the OS wont install the program,it will be lost.
Libre Office is a a free program which I can personally recommend ,this will give you a lot more features than Microsoft office starter.

Or you could hop onto Amazon and buy Office 2003 Professional for about fifty quid. Maybe I'm a stick in the mud but I hate the ribbon interface on Office Vista, 2007, 2010, etc. Give me menus and tool bars any day.

(Also, so many people use Office 2003 and earlier that you get snotty e-mails in my line o' work if you send someone an Office 2007 document.)

But surely the Microsoft Starter should always be onthe PC even if you had to do a Re-Install? This was done ages ago and as i said, i've not uninstalled it and surely being a limited functioning software it wouldnt simply uninstall itself.

Does this mean i have to buy the whole program now then? Pain in the bum if i have to.

Thx

no the trial is optional, on the PCS site you can choose to not get it installed (many people dont like the PC to arrive with bloartware from day 1) I chose to not get the trial because I knew that I wouldn't use it, I use LibreOffice which is free and has a tonne of features, some of the work I do (science, maths, with little numbers on top and bottom) is much quicker to do on Libre due to the menu layout, Im beginning to actually prefer it to when I have to use MS Office 07/10

EDIT: I think if you download here, after the 60 day trial, it will then disable all programs other than Word and Excel which are both free

Perhaps, you cant see it because its been 60 days since the trial was started?

It's not included on the OS disk so if you have already done a clean install or do a clean install it will be deleted.
As I said I would recommend installing LibreOffice,it's far better than the program you lost.:)

Hi! I chose the Option to have it...incase i upgraded to full program. Personally i will only use Microsoft Word, and maybe Excel (to open documents i.e... .doc etc). Its been more than 60 days since i got PC so your saying it will disappear, but still be on system? I just need to get the License Key to fully activate it and make it "Re-Appear"?

When you say "I think if you download here"... where exactly do you mean?

Thx

It has "Writer" A word processor with similar functionality and file support to Microsoft Word.
"Calc" a spreadsheet program, similar to Excel It also has other similar components of Microsoft Office. No harm in giving it a try,it's free.:)
