Hello.
I'm (somewhat unexpectedly) moving into smaller, temporary accommodation in the next few weeks, which means leaving my big friendly desktop monster at home, and I've been looking at speccing a mini PC to take with me. I basically want something smaller and easy to transport that can do everything I need and not overheat and die.
Anyway, as usual it's been a few years and I'm completely out of the loop, plus I've never had a mini pc before.
Monitor: probably 2x Samsung SE450 (S24E450B) - 1920x1080, 60hz. I haven't bought these yet though, so if you have a better recommendation go for it; main thing (for work reasons) is that they can swivel to a vertical orientation)
Uses: primarily work (lots of word processing, browsing/research and a few specialised programs, but no photoshop, video editing, etc.) and movies/music (hence the BR drive (I guess integrated drives aren't possible with mini cases?) and speakers, though I'm not sure about what speakers yet). I do play some games, but nothing very high performance (Disco Elysium level, will probably be the newest/flashiest thing I'll be playing). Will need to be able to connect to wifi I guess
Budget: I suppose £1000-1500 is what I'm hoping to spend, could maybe be persuaded to go a bit higher if needed. Not bothered about high-end gaming or things like that, but I do like to have something fast and clean and slightly more powerful than I 'need'. But also don't want to accidentally spend hundreds more than necessary haha
Open to suggestions, rip the whole spec up and start again if you want.
