More dhl nonsense?

Well I have waited the entire day for my laptop to arrive and at 8 o'clock my tracking has updated to no one to receive, card left.

Now pcs were kind enough to delay my dispatch to arrive today as I had to arrange to be at home to receive it. I have not left my house today. There is no card either. After waiting till half five with no arrival I contacted dhl who informed me it will be delivered before 9pm.
At 8pm the aforementioned update appeared on my tracking page.
Not only have I waited for delivery since this morning, I have not been able to leave my house the entire day and it's now gone 8pm. Of course dhl closes at 6 so there's no way to sort this out till tomorrow.

Complete and utter waste of a day. A day I cannot afford to waste, now I will have to waste another day in a potentially vain attempt to receive my computer.

Not a happy camper.

The most frustrating thing about it is you have no redress against dhl. PCS will still have to pay for the delivery as unless you get timed dhl don't give any guarantees on standard deliveries I believe. We used to use them for work but gave up in the end due to problems like this. One of the biggest causes is it is so competitive for couriers they push the drivers and pay the least they can so corners get cut like this.

Feel for ya and hope it gets sorted tomorrow.

Given you rep Zainy for your unbelievable patience levels :D

Nothing much PCS can do here. The problem is, DHL is the lesser of all evils, generally speaking :(

I do realise this is out of pcs hands. Just a rant against poor service quality by a delivery company.
Courtesy doesn't seem to play a role sometimes with bigger companies. Its a pity, things go wrong, that's understandable but to leave someone hanging on for a day is not on and easily solved.

I know when I do get my laptop all I'll feelings suffered today will be summarily dismissed...
Fingers crossed this is sorted out early tomorrow.

Ta again lads.

Well, if it makes you feel a little better, the "dhl" guy that delivered my £1300 laptop, walked in swinging the box holding it with one hand....

Suffice to say, I ran up to him, said "woooo, dude, serious tech equipment there" and he actually apologised and placed it very carefully on the floor.

I suspect it was a little like the opening scene to "Pet Detective" and he kicked it to the door ;) But it was all good and Caroline is sweet :)

Quick update. Dhl have given me two wrong numbers for the driver and I can't get any more information out of them. Wayne from pcs was kind enough to get in touch with dhl who told him it should be delivered today. I can no longer track my item and the last guy I spoke to at yodel seemed rather exasperated that I would want to find out what's going on with my delivery. Quality service!
