Mouse is dying

I think my mouse is dying. So I'm looking for a new one.

Any recommendations for a gaming one?

Don't forget I'm a beginner!

I'll say money doesn't matter for my budget, but don't go over the top :)

I have a RAT 7 which I find really comfy (you can adjust the weight, palm rest, & thumb rest) downside is that it's no good for left handed people.
If you want something a bit less weird looking I would probably look at either Razer or Corsair, both make nice stuff.

Corsair M65's are nice, I think I picked mine up for £50'ish.

Razer Deathadders have a nice feel to them as well (more ergonomic than the Corsair) but I've not used one for longer than a little demo one in a shop so no idea what the long-term usage is like on them.

My first gaming mouse was a Razer Deathadder and I found that to be a revelation compared to the regular mice I'd been using beforehand. Unfortunately it started to give out a couple of weeks back and so I upgraded to a Razer Imperator (as suggested by Tom). So far the mouse has been great - responsive, configurable and comfortable - though it is a fraction too small for my large hands.

Do all mice connect via a USB?
I think the vast majority of mice will have a USB2.0 connection, with some of the newer models supporting USB3.0. It has been a very long time since I've seen a mouse for sale with the old PS2 connection.

It is possible to get a natty USB to PS2 connector if needed though, especially if you have an unused PS2 hole but have used up all your USB ports!

I'm deciding between those two Outerarm

The way I hold my current mouse, a Logitech M100, is that I have my wrist joint on the mat and my palm on the mouse, with my thumb on the side and both little fingers touching the other side of the mouse.

I'll grab a photo of me holding both the mice when I get home tonight so you can see how they sit. Should have them posted around 7pm (UK time).
