Moving Desktop

Hi,

I'm moving house soon and wonder if anyone has any advice for moving my desktop (Fractal Define R5). I won't be using movers and will personally do the transporting but wondering if any precautions I should take.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to keep the original box and packaging as it was massive.

Should I remove any components or fill the interior area with inflatable material (as it was when delivered to me)?

If you're not able to pack the inside with something appropriate, you could remove the massive Noctua cooler, and the GPU.

Take care of the HDD. Sudden movements/vibrations can damage the internal components. Suggest backing up information before the move just in case.

Lay it on it's side, cooler pointing up the way. That way any bumps etc aren't translated through it's axis.

Other than that, you'll be fine.
