Moving game folders

In 'My Documents' I have game folders i.e. AC4, Battlefield 4. Can I make a new folder, call it 'gaming files', and move them into this folder without messing the game saves up?

I don't think so, I think there are a few folders that store on the C drive, just for saves n what not. Even if the game is installed on a different drive.

I remember, I had to deleted my folder for ROME 2 (thanks to a bug) and it deleted all my saves.

any particular reason you want to move them?

Some games have save games in the cloud, you could move them but the client (steam, origin, uplay) would redownload them to the original location in my documents. The saves go there because of how the game is coded, some save in my documents and some in the game folder itself

You could just make the folders "Hidden" so they do not look messy, the only time you need to go in there is to pull out save files or hack the settings, and the games will still use the folders perfectly fine even hidden. :D

You can move the dirs you mention, using the library feature of w7 & 8, however, in truth, I would not, because you can almost guarantee you will have a problem somewhere down the line.

I've decided to leave the folders.
I remember that I moves AC4 to the folder and it created a new AC4 folder in My Documents lol.

In Windows 7 open up any folder window, click on "Orgonize" then "Folder and search options" Click the "View" tab and then you will see a option to turn on or off show hidden files.
