Hi there,
I've been looking for quite a while to get a nice PC for sound production without breaking the bank, and I came to the conclusion that my only chance would be building my own so I can just get the specs I need without overspending in other stuff (like a dedicated graphics card, as I'm going to be doing only very light and basic video editing).
Before 2019 was over, I had a pretty good idea on what components I would use, but I decided to wait until 2020 to see what those new 10th Gen. Intel CPUs
would look like, etc, but unfortunately 2020 had other plans for human race. After putting every non-essential expenditures on hold for a while, I now feel a bit more comfortable to start thinking again in buying a PC. The only difference is that I've decided to let the pros do the job, so here I am
Basically, the minimum requirements I'm looking for are an Intel i5 or i7 CPU (hyper-threading not required), 16Gb RAM 2666Ghz, 256Gb SSD (either SATA or M.2), a quiet and efficient aftermarket CPU cooling fan and a sound proof case (an additional front 120mm fan if not included already in the case would be great). PSU-wise, I'd like to get something that can handle the actual power requirements of this set up, but allowing some play for future GPU upgrades.
The quotation below is probably the cheapest I could get, and I think it would be a good starting point. Please notice that I've not included any OS license, mechanical hard drive, optical drives and other peripherals, as I already have them. My budget would be between 700eu and 900eu, so there is certain margin for improvement, for example, in the CPU or motherboard.

NOTE: I know that Intel is far behind in the race right now, but in order to avoid any incompatibilities with the software I use (Pro Tools), I need to stay in Team Blue for this one.
