Music to game to...top 10 bands

I play with the sound off. I know you can tell there is something creeping up to get you with sounds and that WoW music is nice (on occasion) but I game to the following:

1 Smashing Pumpkins - in particular Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
2 Any album by Pixies
3 Throwing Muses - University
4 Lana Del Rey - for long, early morning herbing sessions
5 The Prodigy - mainly for drunken Friday night raids that don't matter
6 Metric
7 The Breeders
8 PJ Harvey - let's face it, the woman is a Goddess
9 Queens of the Stone Age
10 Bloodhound Gang when I'm feeling radical

I can relate to 1 (Zero, Bullet with Butterfly Wings), 2, 6 and 9 (Feel Good Hit of the Summer). How about Beastie Boys or Pearl Jam?

I think it depends on what you are playing. I'd still put Pearl Jam on my top 10 haven't listen to Lana del Rey yet.

Lana Del Rey is cool - think weird, 50s type chick, epitome of cool though has an unfortunate thing for Guns and Roses so disguised herself with nose and lip surgery.

I tend not to listen to music while gaming, especially for games like Bioshock. There are some exceptions though, like NWN, I listen to whatever I have on my iPods playlist at the time of playing, my music interests are quite different to yours too.

I don't like any of this new rubbish, I'm a bit of a purist.

Led Zep, Iron Maiden, Dio, Jimi Hendrix, Bad Company, Shinedown, Queen, AC/DC, Machinehead whatever tunes I hear from adverts that I like.

Yes I understand Shinedown and Machinehead are current but they are exceptions.

Other than above I tend to be more into songs than bands, QOTSA feature prominently in that list though.
