My GTX780 arrives tomorrow

At long last I will be receiving a Gainwood GLH GTX780 tommorow do just a few questions.
My current PC which I have from here is as follows:
Stormtrooper Case
i5-4670K not overclocked
Tripple Copper Heatpipe
Corsair 750 Watt Gaming enthusiast Modular PSU

What I would be interested to know is how easy is it to fit this card? I know that you need to attach two cables to the GPU. Are these cables already attached to the PSU or do I need to attach these. I think the GPU comes with two cables as well so do you need to attach these to the cables coming from the PSU?

Also as this is a big card when it arrives will there be enough space to fit it on the Pci slot next to the CPU as this is the one you are supposed to fit it to as it's X16 or something like that anyway, as because the Tripple Copper Heatpipe is quite large, I'm wondering if there will be enough space?

Finally would you recommend purchasing a anti-static wrist guard before you attempt to fit the card.

Finally I hope this card will be better than my Nvidia GT640 lol.

Hi mate, You shouldn't have any problems fitting the card unless the cooler is covering the PCI slot where you want to fit the card.. You should have cables already attached to your PSU for connecting the card and i would recommend buying the anti-static guard as its better to be safe than sorry.

And yea your new card should be a lot better :D

As already mentioned, it is easy to fit but just a few pointers.

  • If you do not purchase a wrist guard before you open the machine rub both your hands down the side of the case, and do so everytime you put your hands back inside the PC
  • Most obviously, turn off and unplug your PC first.
  • When removing the old card, you will need to unscrew the support plate on the left side of the card by the ports, this is obvious to see
  • You may need to unscrew the dummy plate below as well to remove the card easily
  • The PCI-e slot has a small blue lever type button on the connection, press this firmly to release the card from the port.
  • When putting the new card in, push the card in firmly until the blue lever type button clicks into place.
  • Don't forget to remove the power cabled from the card before removing, you can use these on the new card.

I have just done most of these to remove my card and clean it, so reminded myself a few things about doing it, like removing the dummy plate.
