My HTPC/Home computer specs, check them please?

Hi, pretty much ready to order the below. Just need some confirmation that this is a good build.
Use wise, it will be used for watching and storing movies, TV show, lots of music, and some general use such as office applications, some photo editing, email, web etc. It will also be connected to my A/V receiver for 5.1 surround sound. But I also wanted to go high spec so I have a pretty future proof setup.

Can you please confirm the spec is good, no issues?

Many thanks :)

thanks Pheonix, I've changed by drive to an LG Bluray rewriter now which has increased the power usage slightly to 264w, hopefully this is still acceptable for the PSU?

Very powerful little system, i would say the i7 is probably overkill. You could get away with changing it to an i5 and not really notice any drop in performance as most of your tasks, apart from photo editing are not really that demanding. You can change this right up until it goes into production.

The caviar black drives can be slightly loud especially when you get your system and start it up for the first time, i presume thats windows indexing stuff and you load your files etc onto it. After a while it calms down and really is fairly quiet so don't be alarmed if it is a little loud at first. Caviar green drives would be slightly quieter if you were worried about noise at all, but they would also be slightly slower.

That said, your order as it stands is good enough i would just say the processor is a little over specced.

Your system has a 450w psu judging by the case title, so you have more then plenty power to run everything!

thanks for the feedback :)

Your probably right about the i7 in reality, but I just figured get as good a processor as i can. My logic is the higher spec i get now, the longer it will stay fairly current (future proof)

Thanks for the info on the hard drives too, i will keep that in mind then i first set it up.

Now i just need to find a nice wireless keyboard and mouse, something fairly slim line preferably.
