My morning walk with the dog...

Rudy (our basset hound) wanted to walk round the (seawater) lake here in town. What does your morning dog walk look like?

Hi Puppy! Keep threatening to post pics of my pups and never doing it. I'm going to do it tonight

Why do basset hounds always look so sad, I think it is to get more love and attention from everyone which isn’t hard with a face like that.

There was one called Sherwood who lived at the end of our road when I was a kid, his morning stroll involved a specialised route a part of which was through our back garden via a hole in the mesh fence. My grandpa was getting fed up as he would trample across his prized herbaceous border without a care in the world or a guilty conscience for that matter. Anyway, my grandpa had enough so he patched the hole in the fence with mesh. The next morning (Sherwood’s stroll was around 9.00am each morning) my grandpa was on the lookout to see if it stopped him.

Sherwood walked straight into the fence without even checking the hole was still there then proceeded to sit there for a good 5 minutes looking quite puzzled and upset about the whole thing. He then decided to walk along the fence to our next-door neighbour’s compost heap, then jump on it to help him jump over the fence resulting him landing on my grandpa’s other prized plants (he was a very keen gardener). My grandpa gave up in the end and left a path way for Sherwood.

Sherwood won! :)

They are wonderful dogs though, Sherwood was bigger than Rudy but I was a child so he may of seemed bigger than he was he was, he also had darker brown markings.

I remember your previous avatar photo was a basset hound, was it a picture of Rudy?

Rudy can’t fail! (Sorry, couldn’t resist getting a Clash reference in there)

I’m only just getting used to being a cat dad, I’ve owned dogs my whole life and I miss their idiosyncrasies (although the gruesome twosome have their own particular set of skills). Does Rudy have his own skill set that can make your heart melt?
