My PC, internet problems with win7

Right so, I received my pc from pc specialist on friday afternoon, I had school and then work so I did not get around to opening it until friday night.
When I did open it however I was extremely excited and everything went well, I was very careful, setup went great. I turn my pc on, everything works fine, phew. I start playing some minecraft online, facebook, general internet usage, everything works great, Im over the moon.

My PC tells me to run a pc update, of course I do as it says, it being a new pc and I let it do its magic. Since the update, the internet on my pc will not work.

this connection works on every other device in my house, vista, mac, win7, wired and wireless.

So far, the things that I've tried that have not succeeded.
Restarting, entering network details again, trying resetting all network adapters, resetting router, removing and manually re-adding the network (with correct details), unplugging router for 30 seconds, all the cmd commands relating to resetting all IPs, changing properties so everything is set to automatic, checking all network security encryptions, wired connection from laptop, rechecking all cables, flawless virus scan.

none of these have worked. at this stage Im starting to get really, really stressed and fed up, I stayed up all night trying to fix this, went to work, had a **** day because I was worried about my pc and ended up having to wait 2 hours for a bus home from work that would normally take 15 minutes to arrive.I've tried to remain positive, but its fair to say at the moment Im in PC/Network hell. Im sitting beside my pc on my laptop on the same connection, my laptops wireless works flawlessly, my pc cannot even connect when wired to my laptop.

when I troubleshoot or diagnose on my pc it says make sure all the network settings match the wireless router or access point settings, or if its in range, which it is. Also I am frequently getting the, "network security key mismatched" error when I enter my passphrase.

Im really starting to get desperate here, ive spent hours on google looking for solutions and nothing has worked.

if anyone could offer me some help or any advice it would be greatly appreciated right now. :)

Have you tried uninstalling your wireless drivers and reinstalling them because if it was working fine and has now stopped after updates it may have messed them up.

ok the wireless card i have to ask as it's one of the things people miss/don't do so don't hate me for it, have you screwed the aerials in and tried altering the angle of them ? also is there a light on the wireless card to show it is getting power ? as some do have a light on them i believe so if you can't see one have a look through your manual if you have one for the card to see if it has, if it should have a light and it is not on or even if it does not have a power light then you may need to reseat the card just to eliminate that it is not seated properly again i don't know your experience with working inside the PC so if your not sure post back.

I dont really have any experience with working inside pc, but if the card is picking up the connection, does that not rule out a card problem?

To ping the router open the command prompt,to open command prompt type cmd in search box then hit enter or click on cmd that will appear in the open window,
at the command prompt type, ping then your IP address with a space between ping and your address then hit enter.
To find your IP address in Windows 7 using the command prompt
type cmd in search box and press enter
At the command prompt, type ipconfig then press enter,
The IP address (or IPv4 address, if you are using Windows 7 or Vista) will be a series of numbers.
To find your IP address without using the command prompt,
In the system tray, click the network connection icon and select Open Network and Sharing Center.
To view the IP address of a wired connection, click Local Area Connection.
To view the IP address of a wireless adapter, click Wireless Network Connection (Network Name).
Click Details your IP address will appear next to "IPv4 Address".

I did it exactly like you said, this was the result.

Sup Liam i don't know much bout the technical side of your problem, But if i was you ide simply restore the system to before the update was installed and then try to connect. If you succeed you have two choices either try and update again (possibly some files may not have bin installed correctly on the previous update), Or Stay as you are. PCS will have your computer shipped fully updated and in working order, So it's probably not an hardware or driver issue :) It could be simple as your ethernet cable or input are damaged.

Worst case scenario ring PCS and they will probly send some out to you.

Happy days :)
