Hi,

I really want to get a gaming PC, I have been looking at sites where you can custom build your own (like this site) but the problem is I have no idea what is 'good' and what will last me a good while. Im just getting frustrated now because i dont know what is the best i can get for my money. My budget is about £880-£900 just for the tower...

This is the build i have come up with:

Processor: Intel Core i5 quad core 3570k (3.4GHz) 6MB Cache
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-M Micro-ATX, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs, ATI CrossFireX
RAM: 8GB Kingston Hyper-X Genesis Dual-DDR3 1600 MHz (2 x 4GB)
Graphics Card: 3GB AMD Radeon HD7950
Memory: 1TB SATA HDD 7200RPM 32MB Cache
Power Supply: Corsair 650W Enthusiast series TX650
Processor Cooling: Super Quiet 22dBA Triple copper heatpipe intel CPU cooler

^ That is the Vortex 750 Gaming PC on this site but with some adjustments (Total £901) which I guess make it better?? Also are they ready and able to connect wirelessly to my router i cant see where it might say.

Really appreciate any help i just want assurance this PC is good and if not can someone point out whats wrong?

Not sure if you require an operating system but included one anyway.
The PCI wireless card will allow you to connect wirelessly to your router.
If you dont intend adding another GPU in crossfire in future you could drop the PSU to a 450W,this would be nearer your budget at £901.

Thanks for the reply.

And is that better than what i have tried to build then? Yeah I did want an OS as well.

I take it that wireless PCI card allows me to connect to my router as standard?

It includes a faster hard drive and there will be no noticeable difference in performance with the 1333MHz ram.
The wireless PCI card is not standard you need to select it on the configurator.

Yeah thats what i meant. Thats what i need to 'select' so i can connect my pc to my wireless router dont I?

And this PC will be able to run quite demanding games on fairly high settings will it?

(Just want to be sure, lol)

Yes,select the wireless card so you can connect to your wireless router.
The build should handle any games out at the moment on high settings.

Ok, and is this wireless card installed inside the tower then? it looks like it sticks out of it?

Yes it's inside the tower,it doesn't stick out but you need to attach a couple of antennas to it at the back of the case.

Does it come with these antennas? I thought they built the PC for you? lol
Yes the antennas are supplied, just not connected as it would probably make packaging awkward plus they would be more prone to damage in transit. They
will be in your welcome box thingy:) and are easily connected.
Might be worth considering homeplugs as an alternative to wireless, they provide a better and more reliable connection than wireless. Homeplugs are basically a wired ethernet connection through your domestic wiring, plug one homeplug in to a wall socket next to your router then connect an ethernet cable from the homeplug to your router, plug the other homeplug to a wall socket next to your PC & connect an ethernet cable from that to your PC.

I currently have a wireless connection to my computer now and it is fine. I am literally 3/4 metres away from the router lol

This is my final spec i think:

Intel i5-3570k (3.4 GHz) processor
Radeon HD 3GB graphic card
8GB Kingston DDR3 RAM
650W corsair power supply
PCI wireless card
Super quiet 22dBA triple copper cooling
1TB WD cavier black
ASUS p8z77 Motherboard

Silver Warranty

Hopefully this is all right!

Then you would be much better using a wired ethernet connection if possible, that would provide the best connection you can get.

Yeah you've been a great help thank you.

Can i just ask, does it come with any cables?

I know i'll need a hdmi cable to go into my LED full HD monitor, is there any other cables i will need?

You can order an HDMI cable on the configurator, the power lead for the PC will be supplied of course. That's all you will basically need.

Ok so basically the HDMI cable goes from my monitor into my tower doesnt it? Then i will get a HD picture.

You don't need the K version of the processor, that's for overclocking. If you intend on overclocking you would need to upgrade the CPU cooler, but it won't really give you any noticeable increase in performance if any far as gaming goes.
