Need help upgrading my PC for work

Hi guys, need some help upgrading my desktop PC.

I am a 3D motion graphics designer, I use Cinema 4D with the render engine Redshift and simulation plugins like X-particles and Realflow. I also use other 3D software for modelling, cloth simulation and AfterEffects.

I don't know much about PC hardware, right now my PC takes a long time to render animations and graphics, so I'm looking to upgrade for faster speeds in rendering (as fast as possible) and more storage space for my files between 4-6TB maybe (I used up all my storage and rely on hard drives). Also Bluetooth, if possible.

My budget is £2450, thanks!

Here are my PC specs:

Hi im guessing this budget is to build a whole new system not.to upgrade the exsisting build ? If so would you be transferring the windows licence to your new build.?

This is about as good as it gets without going the Threadripper direction mate. Argument could be made for a different GPU but the high level of VRAM is useful for those programs.

Interesting mate, see I went for the best CPU and you went for a better GPU

I will say though the 6GB HDD isn't a great choice due to the 5400 RPM speed. It's shocking slow these days I wouldn't want less than 7200RPM

EDIT: Looks like you removed it mate, no worries

No your completely right I was giving a response to the op more to bump the thread up and lay a foundation for others to respond to your build is much better so removed mine :)

I'm wondering if a middle ground would be a better shout. Is Redshift not a GPU renderer? I seem to recall it making good use of the CUDA cores.

Yeah I was weighing up a 3070Ti or a Quadro RTX 4000 and a 5900x. Just not sure which is the best option, decided to go heavy in the CPU instead of the GPU which could be an error. Open to other suggestions

same build as @Steveyg but with a 5900x and 3070ti and motherboard change

would be the middle ground of mine and @Steveyg builds

if the op could transfer windows from his old build freeing up that money
possible for a 3080 gpu in the build

Only issue is the OP seemed to want monitors etc in the budget. I don't think a powerful build is going to be an option unfortunately.

Be interesting to see what the op thinks with the budget and the power options. I think the 3070Ti+ is definitely the better option if redshift is the main driver.

I think @jamiephillips909 build is a better compromise. Ideally you want a new Threadripper 5000 series with loads of PCIe lanes etc but who wouldn't. Given a constrained budget perhaps a 5900X with a better GPU is the better compromise. Redshift is a GPU renderer not a CPU renderer.

The problem is that downgrading the CPU doesn't buy you that much more GPU with current pricing. Nonetheless, a 3060 Ti runs a Redshift benchmark in around 80% of the time of a 3060, while for a 3070 it's 70% and 3070Ti it's around 63%. So the 3060 is probably the best price/unit performance but the 3070 Ti still gets it done quicker.
