Hi guys.

I'm completely oblivious on what to purchase when building a high spec computer.

I'm asking for advice on what specific parts to buy when building the computer myself.

I'm looking for a high spec all round performance desktop, i edit and program and do recordings so i need something that can handle the pressure of day to day tasks.

there is no rush to purchase this machine, i will probably buy a part for it every payday until it's complete.

I am afraid it is not allowed to give advice on selfbuilds here since the forum belongs to PCS who sells desktops and laptops. You could try toms hardware instead

Only to current PCS builds as upgrades, not openly to anyone.

Not unless you have bought a whole system from them.
PCS are system builders not component sellers, they only sell components as upgrades to previously bought systems.
