New Desktop PC help

Having been a previous customer of PCS (I am typing this up on my awesome gaming laptop) I have decided to avail of their services yet again.
This time I need a desktop as I am finally settling down for a bit and would like a desktop for my work desk.
The purpose of this desktop will be to replace my laptop while at home. I will probably be doing more work than anything else on it (which wont be very intensive on the comp) but id like it to be able to play my games as well.
My biggest question is what is the advantage of going AMD/i5/i7

I have mocked up 3 setups where the only difference is the MB and CPU (I hope) and abviously the price.
Now the i5 and i7 setup dont have a massaive diff in price but they are a good way off the AMD.
What are your opinions on the matter? Also will 750w be enough should i at some point wish to add a second gpu to keep up with the moving times? (PCS calculate that the current setup will use less than 600w)

Morning,
I'd go with the i5 spec but downgrade the cpu cooler unless you wish to overclock but for your intended use that wouldnt be needed.

cheers very much for the quick reply.
Would 750w be enough for a second gtx670? or would i need to up it to 850w?

I'd up the case too, wouldn't want your components to fry. Get one with better airflow :)

I would drop the SSD option and install one yourself once the system arrives tbh.

Intel or Kingston isn't much of a choice, and there are far better SSDs out there for less money.

If you don't want to overclock you could also get the 3550 instead of the 3570k to save a few pennies. Saying that I went for the 3570k anyway JUST INCASE I want to overclock in the future, but I probably won't knowing my laziness.

Cheers, what case would you recommend?

The Corsair is a good case, you can choose basically anything above the PCS Maelstrom T900 and it should be fine. I'd only go for the cases below that with less expensive components ie for casual gaming.

Just look at the features of the different cases (front USB 3.0 etc) and choose whether you want the front ports to be on the top or at the front, then select the one that looks good to you and is within your budget :) The Dragon Rider is a pretty cool case.
