Well I went against buying new computer upgrades to get myself my first DSLR camera in a bid to try and get myself back into the world of photography. So I went out yesterday with it and took a few snaps, and this was the end result baring in mind this is the first time I've ever used any form of DSLR camera!

Hope you like them, not to be up my own behind but for a first attempt I'd say not bad :)!

Cheers

I have to agree with what you said about yourself, for a first time user of a DSLR it really isn't too bad. I particularly like the first. +Rep!
Did you make any edits to these besides the obvious addition of lettering and possibly cropping them? And if you don't mind me asking, what make and model?

Cheers mate, Out of the first set the one that sticks out for me is the Yellow Scania. Haven't a clue why but it looks smart! The edits I did were in adobe bridge messing about with the lighting/clarity of the pictures. The camera I got was a Canon 1100D, so the baby of the Canon SLR's but I'm hoping to upgrade it in a few months.

Cheers!

Seems like a nice camera. Mine has 18 mp which I have lowered in the settings to 4 as they were huge pictures and I have little use for pictures of that size currently, but unfortunately I keep going through phases of losing interest in using mine and each time it happens I seem to leave a larger gap of time between uses, which can be annoying because I don't want it to be a waste of money and want to improve my photography skills, but I'm not getting anywhere all that fast with the breaks in use.

Good quality lenses will make a huge difference, so until you need something that your camera body cannot provide upgrade your lenses rather than the body.

That's definitely true, the lenses I have are fairly decent for what I need. I just got my new 40mm 'pancake' lens today that I got for just short of £120!

Here's the test picture,

By no means am I professional, or the best person to advise on this, but going by the shots in your original post and that one, the lenses seem perfectly adequate. Especially for a newly DSLR user.

I'd have to agree to be honest, As I'm not sure I'd be needing any other lenses other than a good quality 50mm lens and maybe a wide angle lens but that's for future reference I think! :)
