Stability - not overclocking the cpu if it is mainly for gaming. What motherboard are you selecting? The higher memory bandwidth is not going to provide any benefits for gaming, 1600mhz will be fine and you could benefit from a caviar black as the secondary drive.

Hi,

Is it just for gaming?
If yes then I would drop CPU to i5 and not bother with the overclock.
RAM to to 8gb

How many screens? If only gaming on 1 monitor then the 2gb gtx 770 would be just as good.

Upgrade the secondary drive to a Caviar Black

What motherboard have you chosen? If it is SLI capable then I would upgrade the PSU.

Hope this helps

yeah mostly for gaming, would like to run the CAD/CAM software from my work as well.
will just be on the 1 monitor and dont have present ambitions with SLI but would like the option in the future, one of the reasons i aimed high was so that it would last me a bit longer in terms of future proofing

The case seems to be in stock now so just doing some tweaking

changing from the 4770k to the 4770
the CORSAIR 850W ENTHUSIAST SERIES™ TX850 V2-80 PLUS® BRONZE to allow me to SLI in the future
the Super Quiet 22dBA Triple Copper Heatpipe Intel CPU Cooler as not overclocking

not sure about mother board, either going with ASUS® Z87-A or the sabertooth

i think i might need to include an operating system (probably windows 7 home premium 64bit) as the disk i have for windows 7 ultimate 64bit is just an upgrade disk and im not sure how many times i can use it/which versions it upgrades from.

those tweaks bring it to £1,452.00

what do you guys think?

if everything else is looking good i think thats me done then, might add a 27" IIYAMA G2773HS Pro Gamer Monitor as ive started getting these rapid clicking noises coming from my current one which could well spell doom even though its only 3 months old!

really appreciate the advice so thanks again

If it is 3 months olds it should still be under warranty. The pro gamer is a 120hz panel, for your set up a 60hz will be a good and cheaper choice. Not sure if PCS still stocks the Iiyama 27' monitor .

The IIYAMA G2773HS 27" Pro Gamer Monitor is still available from PCS,but as mentioned if your monitor is only 3 months old it should still be under some sort of warranty.

yeah should be able to get my money back if it goes pop, the reason why i was thinking the pro gamer one was i was reading some of the other threads which suggested the 120hz panel would be preferable with SLI so going for that one would set me up for when i upgrade to SLI down the line

You could benefit from a 120hz panel if you get a sli set up, my monitor has the option to change between 60hz and 120hz and to be honest I can't tell the difference.
