New Gaming PC

Sorry about this, budget dramatically went down from around £1000, to £800 (MAXIMUM). I know this has severly dashed high-specs, but I was wondering what specs would be the best for this choice? Generally speaking (not computer savvy at all) I have built these two systems, and both are within my Budget frame.

Primary Uses:

Gaming - A LOT of gaming. Most specifically, ArmA 2, Total War series, Crysis, most High-End demanding Games
Design - 3DS Max, Maya, Photoshop, almost all Adobe products, Unreal Development Kit, Cryengine Development

Secondary:

A lot of Uni work

Any help would be incredibly appreciated, as im really at a loss between the two systems. As cheap as possible is better, as I will be purchasing a Monitor seperately for around £150, so need to save as much money as possible :p

Feel free to ravage apart my two specs, although I do wish to play ArmA II, Crysis and the Total War Series on almost Maximum detail (view distance/AA/AF not as high priority). So if ive chosen things which could be replaced, then please do so.

Thanks!

I've dropped the X4 970 down to the X4 965 because you'll see very little difference between the two, and upgraded the graphics card, hard drive and motherboard. I removed the sound card as there's very little difference between this model and the onboard audio.

Inte or AMD Gaming PC

Me again, sorry for the hassle, its just ive had a slight change of heart.

I honestly have no idea about the Intel Gaming Systems, and also a tiny bit of knowledge about the AMD Systems.

If anyone could help me build a good system, which can play the latest games (mostly ArmA II, Crysis and Total War) on (preferably) Ultra High Detail at a good framerate, then that would be great!

My budget is £30 per month (on finance) or around £800/900 if I buy it straight, so if you can get it down a bit, then please try ;)

Sorry for the hassle once again, just wanna make sure my purchase is a good one in both the long run and the short term!

The general rule is;

Intel = Greater performance/more expensive
AMD = Good performance/good value for money

I would stick to AMD in your situation and the spec Tom has put together looks spot on.

Thats all I needed to hear, thanks once again, and sorry I forgot to edit the other post, nice one for moving it across!

Bump, budget options changed dramatically just before I could order this PC, so unfortunately the old builds went out the window.

Updated original post with two new options, help would be greatly appreciated.

New budget is £800 Maximum, Not much I know but its all Ive got to work with unfortunately (must purchase a £150 monitor to go with it)

I was going to make a new thread but I did that last time and it was just merged into this thread.

So is the monitor included in the £800 or is it more like £800 + £150 for the monitor ? if it's £950 total with the monitor and you can manage an extra £10 try thid below.

Budget;
PC: £800
Monitor: £150

So altogether my final budget is around £950, but thats including the monitor. With the spec you said (although it does indeed look badass) I wouldnt have any money left for my monitor lol :p
