New GTX 980 VS GTX 780 Ti OC

Hey there,

I will soon be getting the GTX 780 Ti OC and I saw a few comparisons between that and the GTX 980, videos showed that both GPUs were almost exactly the same, just the 980 being slightly better, I was wondering if this was true as the 980 had literally just been released a while ago...

Yeah thanks, looks like the GTX 980 isn't much better afterall, haha.

You have to think though that the 980 supports Nvidia's latest tech in games whereas the 780 Ti doesn't also DirectX 12 is around the corner and the 780Ti supports 11.2 I think it is whereas the 980 is 12.

In GTA V with my 780 Ti I wasn't able to adjust the Extended Shadow Distance in the Advanced Graphics options...

So yes the 980 isn't massively faster than a 780 Ti BUT depending on what graphics card you have already it's a worthwhile upgrade whereas it wasn't a worthwhile upgrade for me (as I had a 780 Ti) so I went for a Titan X because I couldn't wait for the 890 Ti lol

Just some things to think about.
