New Laptop Touchpad

Hi all,

I just got my new Vyper III laptop a few days ago and I'm very happy with it so far! However, I have been having a few issues with the touchpad.

I noticed that it seems to glitch out a lot whenever I try to 'click' with it, and sometimes stops altogether. This doesn't happen at all if I just tap the touchpad, only when I click with it. It seems to get particularly angry if I try to click with two fingers.

Also, the touchpad seems to be a bit loose? Like, at the top of the touchpad it feels fine, but towards the bottom of it, it doesn't feel as if it fits.

Would love to hear your opinions! Thank you!

Hmmm, I do t like the fact that the bottom is loose, certainly shouldn’t be. I wonder if the fact it’s loose is causing a loose connection somewhere which is being triggered when you click it.

But just to be certain, have you applied all windows updates? Did you order with or without windows?

Ordered it with Windows, and I believe I've done all the updates. It's really odd though, whenever it does stop working, I just put the computer into standby mode and switch it back on again, and everything works fine.

Can you just check windows update again and make sure there are none remaining?

Also, can you go into device manager and just double check there are no unknown or erroring devices?

Just checked for updates, nothing other than an anti-virus update. Can't see any erroring devices in device manager either.
Ok, even if there was a driver issue that was attributing to the strange behaviour, I still wouldn't be satisfied with that loose mousepad. I know it's a pain, but I'd give PCS a call and log it with them. It may be something they can guide you through on the phone, perhaps there's a screw loose inside or something, but I think that needs addressing as I'm worried it could get worse over time if left as it is.

I know this probably wont be the case but you never know... are you locking the touchpad? If you tap in the top left corner twice a light comes on which locks it.

If not, give them a call. Best of luck!

Having similar issues have logged it with support waiting for a reply.
Friend suggested it could need a driver being reinstalled. I seem to have to turn the trackpad off and back on and it seems to work!

Hi there, yeah. I got on the phone to them and they recommended the same. Seems to work now. They also said that it's normal for the touchpad to be a little loose, so hopefully everything's okay now! Hope it worked for you too scottallen90!

It's funny you should say that, because it's started doing the same again for me. Not as regularly as it was before I installed the driver, but I just now had the same issue again. Out of curiousity, do you also have one of the Vyper III laptops?
