New laptop Vortex III elite here - 10,000 3dmark11 !

Hi ,

Just a quick update to say the beast is here.

Quick reminder - 3610m i7 process, 8gb ram, 2 x 7970m in CF etc

Will post a review later once its all set up , but for now, first thing i did was run 3dmark11 out of interest -

9828 Marks! (Ok so the title thread lied, but close enough )

Insane power for a laptop - pretty much 3 times faster than a single 6990m.

Congrats on your new play toy, looking forward to the review, just managed to upgrade mine to the Elite in time so should get it in the next ten days , went for the GTX option rather than the AMD so should be interesting to compare performance on the two options

nice mate, I'm in stuck two minds whether to get a single 680 or dual 7970 for around as £100 more. Only be playing guildwars really.

if you got the spare cash go for nvidia - always have been a better company for performance (not counting price)
