New Optimus VIII & Cosmos VI

images show the same chassis for both these products - anyone know what it is? it looks like a MSI / Gigabyte love child imo

anyway - im interested in an i7/1050 ti Optimus - and i note the power is from either a 90W or you can select a 120W AC Adapter - is even 120W enough?

the TDP of the 7700HQ is 45W and according to http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1050-Ti-Notebook.168400.0.html - the 1050ti is 'around' 70W - blowing them well past the 90W option and leaving just 5W headroom for everything else with the more powerful adapter!
i have seen other 1050ti lappies with 150W and 200+W power supplies

also (for both 15" and 17") optimuses (optimii?) the 1050ti has a stated 1392MHz core clock as opposed to other-ly advertised (MSI, Acer, etc...) 1493 MHz
is this to bring the TDP down? or is there a typo somewhere?

anyone got any thoughts / answers to the above questions?

thx - looks like pretty much all PCS lappies are clevo.

did see the HP omen15 with the 1050ti also comes with 120W AC adapter - so it looks like both HP and Clevo think 120W is enough.

still want to now about the core clock on the optimus

heres the Acer Aspire VX 15

and MSI's GE72 Apache Pro

both showing 1493MHz compared to the optimus' 1392MHz

re 120W power
i see the Asus ROG STRIX 1050 ti also comes with 120W adapter.
The 150W, 200W and 230W adapters i first saw were all on chassis that also can hold 1060 and sometimes 1070 gpus and K series cpus because they were the easiest to find the adaptor power rating for. so that's probably case closed

re gpu clocks
the images of clock speeds in GPU-Z from laptop reviews are probably faster than advertised by retailers because of GPU Boost doing some over-clocking and possibly cherry picked cards to send out to reviewers.
i asked another retailer what the clocks were on their 1050ti - and they also gave a lower figure than those seen in GPU-Z
