New pc after 10yrs for myself and son

Hello first post please be kind lol.

Put an order for a pc to use for son and myself .

The pc will be paid with an msi optix mpg341 monitor.

As the order is still processing I can chop and change things.

Just wondering is this a correct build ?
also should I see if I can get the 6900xt card ?

The pc will be mainly used for gaming and general usage . I use to be massively into pc gaming when I was younger but due to work etc have not had a proper pc since my teens . Also I would like my son to learn how use a pc and hopefully enjoy them as much as I did growing up.

My budget is to be under 3k.

Motherboard: Can be dropped to the Strix 570 given your uses. Realistically, the CPU could be dropped to the 5800x without much impact on performance...unless, of course, you play games which need large amounts of CPU processing.

RAM: Majority of games, 16GB will be more than enough....unless playing older flight sims or massive strategy games that need a high level of RAM

Thermal paste: Can be dropped...the cooler comes with high grade paste already

Anti-virus: Leave Bullguard out..it's too problematic. Just use the built-in Windows Defender...it is better anyway (in my opinion)

GPU: This is the big question mark for me.. I don't know much about the card but pretty sure it is majorly over-powered for a 1440p UW monitor.

I will look into the motherboard. I just wanted to future proof the pc and persumed the motherboard and cpu choices will ensure that.
But if the motherboard is overkill I could look to downgrade.

With the gpu I would hopefully like to use a 4k monitor but I couldn't justify the price of a 4k monitor with high refresh rate atm so opted for the next best thing uw monitor.
