New PC (help please!)

Hi all,

I recently posted in here for my own new build and received some great help (my order is in and I'm waiting patiently!)

Anyway, I have a mate who is looking for a new PC - His budget is £1k (including monitor ideally) and he needs something for gaming (Hearts of Iron, Football Manager) and for his kids homework etc. He said he feels he should go down the all in one route but I said I'd ask in here as I'm not sure that's his best option!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

£50 over budget but really worthwhile IMO. Also doesn't include a keyboard and mouse but does include the monitor as requested.

Has Wifi (unsure if required) and a Windows License (Guessing this is required).

An AIO would be a terrible choice. There's absolutely no wiggle room with them at all and when they start to get hot (usually happens fast) they tend to get loud and the TIM ends up deteriorating quickly (leads to more unwieldy temps). Effectively zero upgrade path etc too. Below system would offer more performance and future upgrade potential.
