Ok, so i just got back home from dinner and wanted to test arma 2 out on my pc. At first i noticed a couple of dead pixels on the screen so they got me a little peeved but i know this can be fixed easily. Anyway, a bigger problem. Plug in my headphones and all i get is a small static noise. No sound. I then try and play some music, no sound either. But for some reason it only makes the windows "bing" noised when u change the volume.
Everything else works fine to my knowledge so anyone with some knowledge about how to fix this and will receive cookies and rep. (cookies must be supplied by yourself).

oh I've fixed it nevermind. but when i play arma 2 ive realised the buzzing noise only happens when the green light next to the power button is flashing. is this the hard drive or something?

i got the standard 7.1 sound card thats included and im playing through headphones, cheap and terrible ones atm (did try out my bros £70 senhiesers [however u spell it] on there too and same thing) but I've noticed its something to do with a green light and it only does it when i play arma (not played any other games yet) so im guessing its when the hard drive is working.
Edit: yep this is something cpu or hard drive related, it does it whenever i click something, the more cpu demanding the process is, the louder the noise is. Did a google and people say it is either a uselss sound card or a dying hard drive. :/

ok latest update, I've discovered it something to do with the front headphone port. The one on the front of the pc makes the buzzing noise but when the headphones are plugged into the back it works fine. A temp fix but i would still quite like figure out how to fix this as my headphones dont have a very long cord :p plus the fact something is obv not right. also

I have a pair of headphones with a 3m cable.. Their pretty much useless and crap, but the cable is impressive.. ;)

Maybe give PCS a ring tomorrow and see what they have to say?

Moving the cable away from components like the GPU might help,or it might just be a bad solder connection on the jack.

haha, i was kidding about the cable length thing, it may cause me to look really closely at the screen atm but i would quite like to figure out what it up with the front speakers jack because people are saying it could be either minor or a killing frenzy inside my computer. Anyway ill give them a call in the morning and update this thread. Rep to all those i feel deserving, this feels like i'm knighting people C:
