new Skyfire IV - issues! trackpad, hdmi to tv, battery?

Skyfire touchpad issues - Jumping places, 2 finger scroll is "wobbly". 2 finger left-right scroll no longer working, 2 finger pinch zoom not working.

Battery life only 2 hours??? with intel graphics used, full charge, battery saver on and screen at 25%, feels like this should be more on a €1000 laptop? (it is a quad core, but surely that wouldn't lead to no more than 2 hours of power on a 14" screen, not even full hd)

Also, is there a way to make the fn+f2 (screen display swap) include "extend displays when pressed, instead of just screen 1, screen 2, or duplicate....

Also, regarding the screen, when plugged in HDMI, all the edges are not visible (image to wide/tall for tv) i tried all resolutions, none of em work :/

Also, can't seem to see soundblaster cinema 2 options, maybe missing a driver?

Also also also :p , is there a way to change at what angle of the screen closing that the machine will go to sleep?

Hoping i have just been stupid and missed something easy!

Hoping you can help!! Thanks guys.

What OS are you using? If windows 10 then the trackpad issues are to do with that.

How long have you had the laptop? And do you keep the laptop plugged in all the time when at home? If so then you need to let it run down and then recharge it as often as possible, otherwise it will damage the battery.

As for the other stuff I'm not sure

Hey bud, thanks for the reply.

I've had it for about a week. Mix between plug and battery, so has drained (not completely) about 3-4 times to far and has been used while being charged etc for the rest.

I heard that with lit-ion batteries that they no longer need to be discharged, and it can actually be bad for its life to use up charge cycles, except for every 30 cycles a full charge/discharge. Can't find source right now though! is it lit ion on the skyfire?

And yes it is windows 10 :/ guess i will go to windows 8 before i am too far sunk into this install.. reckon that will fix trackpad yea?

Should do, unless your trackpad happens to have a fault with it, which would be less likely.

As for the battery not sure, but don't keep it plugged in, let it drain to at least 20% before you plug it back in if possible. Download HWmonitor and it will show you the charge level left

Update drivers for touch pad and graphics?

Have these 'Issues' been there since day one?

Well i was able to pinch zoom and scroll left to right using the trackpad. I logged into my PCS account and updated all the drivers they had listed for me. I am going to get a copy of windows 8.1, but it will take a few days, and i don't think that will help much with the battery life? Maybe it is just a mediocre battery ... or maybe expecting more that 2 hours is unrealistic?

As far as discharging is concerned you don't need to. You're actually quite right that it just uses up its cycles unnecessarily in Litium Ion Batteries. You should however not let them get hot at full charge such as when gaming etc as it can damage its life. BUT...all this in a week is impossible..it takes a lot of time.

I would get in touch with PCS directly to get them to sort it out for you. Could be a faulty battery. But still wait and see what other say. Could be some program running in the background thats causing this and others might give better advice than me :)
