New ssd drive

Hey guys i bought new ssd drive, it came with no caddy or sata cable(im guessing there is a spare cable somewhere in the machine?. My questions here are, anyone brave enough to let me know how to physically install it? Should i move files to an external hdd then fresh install of windows (need to know how to do both things here) or do i use some sort of program to transfer windows? Spec is in sig and the ssd is kingston 120gb ssdnow v+200 sata 6gbs, Thanks in advance to anyone and i shall reply asap as im off out

There will be a spare power cable if you have a non modular PSU,but you will need a sata cable.
To transfer the OS including programs to a smaller drive (as your SSD will probably be) you would need software like Paragon Migrate OS to SSD as windows own backup program can't transfer the system to a smaller drive,some SSD's come with transfer software.
Some people reckon it's better to do a clean install of the OS to the SSD,but this would mean backing up all your data & reinstalling your applications.
To do this,take out the existing OS hard drive,Install SSD,set the SSD sata port to AHCI in bios, then install Windows on the SSD,this will save any problems with boot & system reserved partition.All required drivers will be on the disks,you can always update them later if necessary.
Install the original HDD, start computer,It should automatically boot to the SSD drive,
save all data you want from the HDD, you can then go to "computer" right click the HDD & select format.

Thanks for the answer, im guessing the power cable is the one about 1inch wide and the sata is the smaller cable? If so the power cable seems to be locked slightly far away by the cable ties atm. So just disconnecting my hdd with windows and then reconnecting with windows on both drives will not affect the boot?

If you follow what I said windows should boot to the SSD drive.

Sorry to bother again but could you advise me on the sata cable? I just went on pc world website and there are lots of different kinds :? haha!

Any SATA 3.0 (SATA 6 Gbit/s) of the length you require will do.
