New X99 build arrived

New build arrived on Friday after a respectable 13 days build time, would have been quicker but they were holding out for the out of stock speakers but they will now arrive later, as with my previous orders the PC arrived very well packaged and the unit itself was extremely well put together.
I was upgrading from an I5-760 system and was looking for a spec that would be upgradable for a few years, I also wanted a system I could OC easily and the Rampage V helps no end with that having already achieved a 4.2ghz oc running at 38c.
Another quality product, thanks PCS.

Very nice, like the sense board in the background, should be able to run sense without any hitches i should imagine :D

Nice system, especially liking the case, but just to point out, having a non pre overclocked machine and overclocking it yourself has voided the warranty on your CPU and maybe you Motherboard also.

That is true, however I chose the cooling options, paste and motherboard specifically for over clocking and this overclock hasn't pushed the temp over 40 after several hours of extended heavy use so should be fine. Thanks for the info though :)

I'm not sure it does void your warranty, those boards are designed by the makers to be overclocked and come
with the software to do it.

I'd actually agree I'm not sure it voids any warranties at all simply overclocking the CPU shouldn't certainly. Most GPU manufacturers void warranties if overclocking but I think Intel (for one) doesn't automatically void the warranty. Obviously if you melt your CPU because of the OC then you're unlikely to get a replacement :)

Very similar spec to mine (I went for the Asus X99 deluxe mobo, 2400MHz RAM, no additional case fans, the Hyper212 CPU cooler and a 1200W PSU) : did your Storm Trooper X-Dock (the SSD slot at the top front) come connected? I had to manually wire mine in and my hands are a little big for the spaces (I ended up moving the BluRay drive down one slot). My machine has been quite quiet as is ;)

Is there any reason you went for the 5820k CPU (which only has 28 lanes) instead of the 5930 etc (I originally went for the 5820k myself before realising it may limit me for M2 and second graphics cards)? I assume you aren't thinking about a second graphics card because, IIRC when I was speccing mine, the 850W PSU wasn't powerful for 2x980s.

I chose the 5820k as I had read some good reports on its oc potential and I wasn't planning to sli, though if I do it would only be 2 cards which the PCIe lanes will be fine for. According to the configurator the 850w won't be enough for sli but researching on the net it may be ok but in honesty I don't see myself buying another 980 anytime soon and may well update the psu if I do.
Everything was hooked up when it arrived and I've been very impressed with the performance though messing with over clocking the chip to 4.5ghz has forced me to lower the memory clock to 2400mhz for the mo but I plan to have a proper go tomorrow to get the ram to +3000 and the cpu to 4.5.
Returning to sli I can't decide if the performance gain is worth the cost of a second card it runs pretty damn well on a single gpu, was also considering over clocking the gpu very slightly but need to read up as I have never done this before.

Good Review.

As you were taking the pictures while playing BF x? You get some rep!

It runs really well m8! I settled for 4.2ghz oc with 3000mhz ram and it has handled everything I have thrown at it really well, running gta v on ultra at 1080 I get 60fps only really dropping to 45-50 in the grassy hill areas on the benchmark test.
