Nvidia and AMD in the same PC?

Hi guys,

Below is the build that I have recently ordered. My question is, can I add an AMD card to the build (in addition to the Nvidia) to take advantage of TressFX and PecksFX? Does it even work like that? Nvidia taking care of the main graphics and the extra FX taken care of by AMD?

I understand TressFX is available for Nvidia but at a large cost to FPS, and PecksFX (http://www.p4rgaming.com/?p=1711) is what makes the birds in the Battlefield 4 trailer look incredible. I would happily pay extra for another card to sit alongside the Nvidia to achieve the gorgeousness seen in the BF4 gameplay video. For those that haven't seen it, click here.

Unfortunately not, SLI can only be achieved by using the same card, in your case another GTX670. What I will say is don't buy into the little extra features too much, I personally love my GTX670 and although I may not get fancy hair, I get brilliant drivers at every new release and some other brilliant features that are arguably better than hairs and birds. Especially if you are new to PC's, GeForce Experience is extremely helpful for getting settings right.

Ah that sucks :( I was kind of expecting that answer though

I have had Nvidia cards for a few years now, the first one I bought many moons ago was the 9600. Moved from that to the 460 and then what I have currently, the 560 which I have over clocked very nicely (BF3 on ultra, 1680 x 1050 - maximum my current monitor can support - at a steady 45-50fps). I have always been impressed by the level of support and the steady stream of updates on Nvidia devices, hence my choice for the new build. I hope they release a driver to make the birds for our cards because the level of realism in that 17 minute clip has got me really excited for the release!

Haha, spend too much time looking up at the birds and you'll get an .50 caliber to the face!

grimezy has pretty much summed it all up, the only thing I would add to that outer than the fact that nvidia is suppose to be a lot more reliable with fix's and drivers than amd as already mentioned - you also get nvidia physx technology, if this will effect how the birds look and behave in bf4 I have no idea, but it made a massive difference in borderlands 2..
