Perhaps they've lined up an awesome new architecture or something for next year and want to give it a brand new naming scheme. After all Nvidia have delayed their latest gen by quite a bit due to issues.

I'm more interested in what the new naming scheme will be after this last throw of the dice with the current naming strategy...

I think they should make it more confusing by not using numbers at all, just words.

What, so after they finish with the 900 series they just start naming them the

GTXBetterThanAMD

then GTXStillBetterThanAMD

hahaha, lol.

At the end of the day, we need not argue and bicker about which graphics card manufacturer is better. Both are the same really, one does a good job and is a little bit cheaper, whereas the other is a little more expensive and does a slightly better job. ;)
