Oblig' n00b thread

Hi folks, just posting the usual n00b thread.

I'm a bit of an old git (43) and have been PC gaming on and off since the days of the 286, with various micros before that. I estimate that the amount of time I've spent playing Civ, Frontier, UFO enemy unknown and Tie fighter/X wing alone is probably enough to scare me if I ever added it all up.

Laptop history has been a variety of Thinkpads (the missus and I used to buy the odd wreck off ebay and fix the common faults and flog them on here and there) followed by a couple of Dell inspirons. Then Dell went to the dark side and I've come to PCS for a decent machine at a decent price.

Not as much time to play PC games these days, as the missus and I acquired our first nookiefruit a few months back, but try to get the odd game of CoD in (old lappy was too poor spec for BF3 before anyone chimes in :tt2: ) Used to play a good amount of board games and CCGs, but again, not so much time these days. Both of us work in the business division of a large Comms provider and are going part time in the new year 'cos childcare costs are stupid! We've got three cats, a couple of tortoises and are looking to adopt a rescue dog soon-ish (like we're not busy enough.)

Hope to see people on Steam when next COD appears, and will try to nip in the forums here and there.

Cheers

My eyes widened when I read '286'. I remember the heady days of my trusty '386'. Playing Battle Chess as a kid with no clue what I was doing, purely to see the animations of Knights scything down Rooks. Great days.

See you around fella :)
