I am considering buying a laptop; as powerful as possible
It will be used for computer chess competitions and computer chess engine development which means that the computer should be capable of running full throttle, both CPU and GPU and RAM, being flogged at full throttle for hours on end preferable for at least overnight or from the time i leave home and return home
My initial inclination is go for a 15.6" OCTANE V with (9700k and 2080) with 16 GB RAM, but i have seen very few reviews about a clevo P751TM1-G with a desktop processor on the internet and people on the computer chess forums are highly sceptical that a Laptop with a high end desktop and GPU could ever run without shutting down for more than 30-40 min at a time. I was warned against buying such a system, although none of the posters have any actual experience of a desktop in laptop system
The laptop will stay in one location, hence battery life or portability is not much of an issue and i am quite happy to buy the most powerful laptop cooling stand as well
My question is is it capable of running for 8-10 hrs at a stretch without severe throttling or shut downs
My original plan was to buy a desktop with 9700k and 2080 0r 2080ti with high end cooling. Unfortunately my wife says no to a desktop so this is out of question
