Octane 3 15.6", Monitor/display has 48HZ, can it be overclocked to 60+HZ??
I bought a laptop with i7 6700k, and gtx 1070, it was quite a shame when I found out that it was 48HZ monitor,
now thinking of opting to 17.3 inch octane 3 with same specs, as the monitor has a native 60HZ not sure if its over clockable,
i find anything below 50HZ on monitor unplayable on games,

Can someone confirm if it can be overclocked,

I know MSI and other Brand can over clock monitor/display to above 75Hz easily.

To find the Monitor refresh rate.

Right click to on desktop, click screen resolution, then click advance settings and find the monitor tab, it should show ur refresh rate,

in order to overclock ur monitor,
you have to use the nvidia control panel, Here's a youtube guide.

I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but please stop creating the same thread in each section of the forums, I've deleted all the duplicates.

It's possible that nobody on the forums has answered because they can't tell you for sure. I certainly can't, I have no idea. It may be worth phoning PC Specialist to ask them about the panel specs.

I would second what Oussebon has said, if you need an answer really quickly your best bet is to phone(not message/email) PC Specialist directly.

Forum members wont necessarily know, the ones that do/might know may not have frequented the forum since you made your post, so you might not get a response for days or even longer if you just wait here.

If you can't phone for whatever reason, emailing PCS is the next best formal way to contact them, they typically respond in 2-3 working days but this can take longer at busy periods (which seem to be occurring more frequently as of late). Finally if you use the online chat / messaging service, you may not be able to get 'technical support' which is really what you're looking for so that option might not work for you.

If you can, phone them. Definitely the best way and you'll get the answer much faster.

If you do find out, I know everyone here would appreciate you posting back with your findings, would help anyone else with a similar problem!

The reason I am on this is because they cannot give me a definitive reason:Every person I can has different asnwers: Here is there multiple confusing Answers.
Answer 1: I dont know, I believe that the info is old. so it could be 60hz OR 48HZ
Answer 2: Yes its definitly 48 hz and you cant overclock it, a 48hz monitor is a 48hz monitor Ill be surprise if you can overclock it.
Answer 3: using the Nvidia control panel you can prolly increase it to 60hz, the info says 48hz, but i don't think anyone has check recently, its a new chassis

SO PLEASE CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A DEFINITIVE ANSWER, PLEASE GIVE IT A TEST so we can make them change that info as it is false advertising and it would be best for me as I can pick a 17.3inch which is a 60hz or 75hz which is enough for me.

I'm sure if anyone does know they will let you know, but these are forums, not chat rooms therefore it can take longer for people to reply (it tends to get very quiet overnight) and people are replying out of their own free time, so please be patient.
Personally I have no idea as I do not own a laptop.

Please remain calm and don't start throwing accusations around unless you are certain they have some basis in fact. It is possible that there is erroneous information on the website, however as no one is sure of that yet we shouldn't start suggesting its false advertising.

As Rakk mentioned, it can take some time for forum members to notice a post and respond and that's only assuming someone has the information you're looking for.

For info, the 15.6" Octane 3 screens are advertised as 48Hz and the 17.3" Octane 3 screens are advertised as 60Hz from the configurator. Which laptop/screen are you looking for? Your thread title indicates its a 15.6" (as does your first post) but this post I'm mentioning above refers to a 17.3Hz.

Not accusation just base on facts at the momment, didint mean to offend not my purpose, my point is just to get solution.

its a 1080P, monitor im looking to, I have called again today, and they said they will confirm it, as they have alot of conflicting info, even the 3k panel display for 15.6 octane its advertised as 48hz, but if u search the product number/manufcaturer its 60hz, a few things doesnt add up.

I can confirm the 3k panel for the Octane III is 60Hz (there is also a 48Hz option on the config panel but I'm not sure why anyone would want to use that..)
