Optimus charging problem

My laptop works fine when plugged in but I've recently noticed the status is "0% available (plugged in, charging)" and never actually charges. No movement on the icon as usually happens. I've tried removing and reseating the battery, any other ideas?
The laptop switches off as soon as the charger is removed.

Sounds like a dead battery, I'd give PCS a call.

Thanks, I contacted them and told me that if it is the battery, I'd have to pay for it as they only have a 6 month warranty. Pretty disappointed by this, the laptop is less than a year old.

Yes I saw that, it's almost as if they know they've got a high failure rate or something

That's normal for consumables in for any manufacturer weather it's laptops, smartphones, anything, batteries are always 6 months. They have no assurance that the customer is going to adhere to correct usage patterns.
