Optimus II laptop questions! Config help

Hi guys, new to PCS and looking for some advice.
I like the look of the Optimus II and have a few questions on which parts I should select for it.

(I'm buying it for general use, casual gaming, a little video editing/photoshopping etc)

I don't want to go over £1050 and the setup I'm settled on at the moment is:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-2720QM
RAM: 8GB SAMSUNG 1333MHz SODIMM DDR3 MEMORY (2x4GB)
HDD: 750GB WD SCORPIO BLACK WD7500BPKT
Wireless: KILLER™ 1102 WIRELESS 802.11n CARD

Can anybody see if there would be a better combination for the money?

Thanks in advance

Not really the spec looks good, however if you want to save money then the difference between the 2720QM & the 2630QM is minimal (0.20GHz) - is it worth the extra £100 to you?

Hi Meds thanks a lot for the reply.

To be honest I don't know much about CPUs, if the 0.2GHz really wouldn't do much then I would reconsider and go for the 2630QM. On the subject, how does the low clock speed but 4 cores match against the higher clock speed 2620M?

Basically I'm trying to future proof my machine whilst also getting a lot out of it now.

I was also looking at the Vortex II 17 but I just couldn't decide whether the drop in CPU/RAM/Storage would be worth the increase in GPU

The 2630QM will turbo up to 2.6/2.7/2.8/2.9ghz when 4/3/2/1 cores are loaded respectively, if the temperature allows it to (it will drop down to its default 2ghz if it gets too hot). The 2720QM will turbo to 3.0/3.1/3.2/3.3ghz on 4/3/2/1 cores and also supports hardware accelerated AES encryption and virtualisation, which the 2630QM does not (if you do not know if you need these or not, then you don't need them). The dual core 2620M will turbo to 3.3/3.5ghz on 2/1 cores if the temperature allows. This means that if your laptop is not using all 4 cores, you should not loose out on much speed compared to a dual or single core that runs at a higher base clock speed.
