Optimus II touchpad stopped working?

Hi,

I have an Optimus II for almost a year now, and I am very happy with it.

But suddenly the touchpad stopped working, and I have no reasonnable reason for that. No liquid spillage or anything. I tried FN+F1 to enable or desable it with no effect. I have a usb cordless mouse when I am not travelling, but otherwise I like to use the touchpad when I am on the move.

Can somebody advice me to tell me where I should look to see if there is a hardware or software problem?

Have you tried to install Drivers for your touchpad?

Check in device manager.
Start - Control Panel - System - Device Manager
Check for any errors, and check what touchpad it is. Possibly Synaptics.

Then Download drivers and see if they work

I have exactly the same problem with mine. I have just emailed PC Specialist for advice. I have reinstalled the drivers from the disc with no joy, and I have even reinstalled windows without any luck. Personally I think its a hardware issue as the touchpad still didnt work when I was installing windows.

It happened a few times already. If I restart the laptop it is fine. I don't know what's causing this...
