Optimus IV 17.3 - Memory Modules?

Hey Guy's

Just received my new Optimus IV 17.3 laptop, and thus far soooo happy ! Thanks for the constant updates on delivery, couldn't be happier.

Quick question, I bought 16gb (2 x 8gb) externally with the intention of installing them with the 2gb that was already in place.

On the technical specs it says the laptop supports 3 modules - I can only find and fit in 2, am I missing something?

According to the laptop manual (which is a pdf download from clevo site) the third slot is only supported with quad core CPU's and is not user upgradeable.
The slot itself is located under the keyboard.
The manual advises contacting the service centre for more info. Whether this is due to difficulty of access I do not know.
To be honest I do not think you will find a significant improvement with the additional 2Gb

I'm running a quad core i7 so wouldn't be any problems there. I had a hunch is may be under the keyboard, but you're right I doubt there will be any real increase with the extra 2 - just thought whilst I have it I may as well take advantage of it lol
